Automotive Youth Education Systems Program

AYES is a partnership between local high schools and automotive dealerships that is sponsored and supported by virtually all automobile manufacturers. AYES is designed to attract our young people to the automotive industry and give them an opportunity to gain real life experience in a dealership environment.

The nucleus of AYES is the students in the automotive program at San Benito High School’s Vocation and Career Technology curriculum, and soon to be launched at Brownsville’s Gladys Porter High School. Other Rio Grande Valley High Schools are currently awaiting certification to be included in the program.

The program consists of a NATEF and AYES-certified curriculum and offers job shadowing and internships as part of the program. Upon graduation, many students continue with their college education while others often begin full-time employment at their sponsoring dealerships.
